Community Ingenuity helps rural and small town communities thrive and prosper through more effective use of data, research, and knowledge mobilization.
After several successful years of collaboration on rural research and consulting, particularly in the area of local utilization of rural data under the banner of Community Transformation Associates, Bob Leitch has announced his retirement from CTA-Inc. Nelson will continue to provide these services to rural communities and related organizations through his company, Community Ingenuity.
Research and Consulting
Community Ingenuity network associates have extensive experience assisting municipalities and community groups by providing analysis of local issues, identifying relevant recent research findings, and recommending action based on best practices in comparable contexts.

Big Data for Small Places – is an introductory data literacy program that uses a capacity-building approach to data access and analysis that focuses on addressing actual local issues through more effective use of data.
Rural Data Standards
Community Ingenuity is working with the Standards Council of Canada as the Lead Industry Proponent of national data standards for indicators of rural community wellbeing.

Nelson Rogers and Robert Leitch provided Lanark County with a comprehensive study of issues and options for rural transit in Lanark County. Their study was instrumental in providing a blueprint for moving forward with fact based solutions.
Since 2015 I have worked with Bob and Nelson on a wide variety of projects related to rural sustainability, including four big data for small places projects and an emergency in-field communications consultation.
